Art as a Journey (Winter Term)
Every Wednesday, 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, Ages 5–12
Art as a Journey (Winter Term) These classes are not about copying or staying inside lines. They are about thinking, building, experimenting, and trusting imagination. Children work through a long-term, story-based project that grows over time. Each session adds a new layer to their artwork, helping them develop patience, focus, and creative confidence. What makes this class different? Project-based learning (not one-day crafts) Sensory exploration using different materials and textures No “right” or “wrong” outcomes Process over perfection Small groups for individual attention Mistakes are welcome here—they’re part of learning. What children will do: Build and develop their own imaginary world step by step Paint, draw, cut, glue, and construct using mixed materials Explore color, texture, shape, and space through play Listen to short stories that guide each session’s creative focus Learn to explain their ideas and make independent choices All materials are provided. Skills children develop: Creative thinking and imagination Fine motor skills Problem-solving Focus and patience Confidence in self-expression Teaching approach: Rooted in a humanistic, child-centered philosophy, these classes engage the senses first—allowing imagination to grow naturally and creativity to follow.
